“Sketches of Pains and Forgiveness” is the first ambient/experimental EP album by author/writer/electronic music producer/DJ Luis Gabriel Aguilera.
Work began on the EP on November 5, 2006 with “Anastasia;” continued with the release of “Departure” on March 18, 2009; followed with “Detroit Under Water,” released January 7, 2010. The final installment, “Go in Peace,” was due to be released in 2010 but the artist just could not get to the project until May 2013. Such is life. These are now the final edits and masters of all four compositions.
“Sketches of Pains and Forgiveness” is the audio expression of the varying stages of depression experienced by the artist from his early days as a youth to his late 20s culminating in climactic tribulation, intense catharsis, and eventual spiritual and emotional development, as well as continued awakening.
Specific narratives for all compositions are due to be released in the months ahead. (One thing at a time, kids.)
The highly nuanced but elaborate compositions pay homage to artists such as Brian Eno, Henryk Gorecki, Steve Reich, Mike Kuszynski, among others.
